Severe weather conditions and logistical challenges were no competition for the excitement roaring through the city of Chicago as it hosted NASCAR’s first-ever street race over the 4th of July holiday weekend.
Cortech had the honor of sponsoring Car No. 35, driven by Alex Labbe of the Emerling-Gase Motorsports Team, as he competed in the inaugural event that was seen by 4.6 million viewers, NBC’s most-watched NASCAR race since the Brickyard 400 in 2017. The adrenaline, passion, and enthusiasm for the sport was infectious as Labbe and the other drivers zipped through the heart of our Sweet Home, Chicago.
Emerling-Gase Motorsports is an American stock car racing team that competes in the NASCAR Xfinity Series. Partial owner and native Iowan, Joey Gase, shares Cortech’s midwestern roots and characteristic values of family, humility, hard work, and kindness. He currently resides in North Carolina, the central hub of the sport, as a professional driver and team co-owner with fellow driver Patrick Emerling. Thank you, Joey, for an unforgettable weekend!
